Clean White Sneakers And How To Maintain Them
“Woah Daniel back at it again with the white vans!” This is a quote from a viral video that emphasizes on having fresh white sneakers. Anyone that owns a pair of all white sneakers knows the importance of having clean white sneakers. Unless you’re a “skater” you do not want to pull up to the scene with dirty white shoes. However, no worries sneaker heads Spotless Kicks has got you covered on the clean white sneakers method! We will also show you different ways on how to maintain and keep your sneakers white was well! Alright let’s begin some methods shall we.
Washing Your White Sneakers With Tooth Paste
When washing any type of sneakers white or not you’re going to want to remove the laces first always. Next you are going to want to mix up a solution to clean the sneakers. Many Blogs recommend using a mixture of bleach and water but that stuff stinks, works but stinks! So another alternative is to use tooth paste and a magic eraser. That’s right good old tooth paste that everyone has in their bathroom. Spotless Kicks recommends using an all white based tooth paste over an gel type based paste. Now put your white tooth paste on a soft bristle brush and start to scrub the white areas of the shoe.
Make sure that you have a cup with warm water and dish soap handy in your cleaning work space. Next take a micro fiber rag, wet it, and wash off the tooth paste applied areas. Now take your magic eraser, wet it and go over any remaining scruffs or marks. A magic eraser can be purchased at any local grocery store. If your sneakers are really wet let them dry in your room for a few. After using these steps you should find that your off white sneakers are clean white sneakers again.

Creating A Cleaning Solution With Baking Soda To Clean White Sneakers
Doesn’t making a cleaning solution make you feel like you’re in 8th grade science class again? The ultimate sneaker solution chemists! That has a nice ring to it. This method if you did not already is a hidden gem. Here is how you make the solution and here is the process to applying it to your sneakers.
First of all make sure you have these tools handy before you start your mixing. You will need a cup, bottle of peroxide, a spoon, water, and a box of baking soda. In your cup add ½ tea spoons of peroxide and ½ of water with your spoon. Then add about 1 tea spoon of baking soda to the mix. Now Stir nice and well with your tooth brush. Whoa you just made “Chemical X”! Sorry for the cheesy Power Puff Girl reference.
Using the Baking Soda Solution
You can now start to remove your sneaker laces from your sneakers. Then start to apply the solution all over your sneaker using the tooth brush. Next clean your sneaker laces with the solution if they happen to look dingy. Let your sneakers sit with the solution on them for around one hour. Now take both sneakers and bang them together. You will notice small flakes coming from the shoes and don’t worry it’s just the solution.
Now proceed to bang your sneakers against each until most of the solution is off of your sneakers. Take your laces and pull on them until you feel the solution is out of them as well. Run your sneakers and laces under warm water and wash off the remaining solution. Let them both fully dry in a dark room. This is because with white shoes sunlight could mess with their original color. A washing machine is also another option you could use but we go more in detail on our washing machine page. Finally as a result of your sneakers drying you now have yourself a pair of clean white sneakers to wear again.
